Yesterday : Jean RAGNOTTI / Jean-Marc ANDRIE - Rallye Monte Carlo 1981
An event never to be forgotten: Hannu Mikkola shocked the world in the new Audi Quattro beating everyone by minutes on the snowy first stages until he crashed. Then Jean-Luc Thérier in the Porsche took the lead until he also crashed on the descend of the Col de Turini. After that Ragnotti took over and won the event.
Martin RÄTHEL’s car is based on a R5 Turbo 2 which he bought in 1987 in the south of France. In this "Cevennes" configuration, it develops 200 horsepower, like the majority of the R5 turbo entered in rallies at the start of the 1980s. Renault dealer and big fan of the brand's sports cars, he wanted to pay tribute to Jean RAGNOTTI with a replica of the winning car in 1981.
