This Ford Escort was built in England in 1995 by MLP (Mike Little Preparations) and entered in November of the same year in the Network Q Rally for Grégoire de Mevius. After the 1996 Monte-Carlo with the same driver, the car returned to England and was occasionally entered by M-Sport in the World Championship. At the end of the season, during the Network Q Rally, former Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle left the road which required the car to be built. The car was then sold to compete in the Spanish Championship.
Lars Zander started in motorsport in 1983. For many years he raced in endurance races including the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring and Dubai. It was through a friend that he came to historic rallies in 2017 with a predilection for old factory Ford Escorts.
He found this car in Italy, where it raced after again passing through Germany and Austria. It has been completely restored with respect to the original and restored to the configuration of the Rallye Monte-Carlo 1996.
